George W. Bush Is NOT The Antichrist

misc-international-anti-bush-ad-malaysia-1-200x300george-w-bush-picture-1While he was still president, many people attempted to identify George W. Bush as the Antichrist. Now that Barack Obama is in the White House, that theory has been subsiding quickly, but it is just an example of how ridiculous people can be when they want to see something that just is not there. Yes, George W. Bush was a horrible president and he was not the "evangelical Christian president" that many believed that he was.  Large numbers of evangelical Christians were totally deceived by this man.  But the truth is that George W. Bush is not the Antichrist and he never will be.

Posted below is a YouTube video entitled "Bush is the Antichrist", and it is an example of how crazy some people can get. In fact, the video is so ridiculous that we could not help but laugh out loud as we were watching it.  But you know what?  There were people who actually believed that Bush was the Antichrist.  Just check this crazy video out.....

As hard as it is to believe now, some people honestly believed that George W. Bush was the Antichrist. Author R. Stephen Hanchett even had a book entitled "Is George W. Bush The Antichrist?" for sale on Amazon.com.....

Is George Bush the Antichrist?

BushFortunately most Christians did not buy into this type of insanity, but neither was George W. Bush a "good Christian leader" either.  The truth is that George W. Bush rejected the fundamentals of the Christian faith and instead publicly stated his belief on several occasions that all the major religions worship the same god.

For example, during one absolutely shocking interview near the end of his presidency, President George W. Bush publicly stated that the Bible is "probably not" literally true, that he prays to the same "god" that other major religions do and that he believes in the "scientific proof" for evolution.

Does that sound "Christian" to you?

Of course not.

When asked during the interview if he believed that the Bible is literally true, President Bush responded this way:

"Probably not. No, I'm not a literalist, but I think you can learn a lot from it."

That seems pretty clear, and yet many evangelical Christians insist to this day that George W. Bush was a great Christian president.

The truth is that George W. Bush openly publicly stated many times while he was president that Christians, Muslims and all other religions pray to the same God. Not only that, but we find mainstream media sources reporting that Bush admitted that he prays to the God of Islam, that non-Christians and Muslims will go to heaven and that he has "nothing but praise" for the religion of Islam.

Do you find this too shocking to believe?

Well, it is true.

Charles Gibson of ABC interviewed President George W. Bush and the topic of religion came up during the interview.  The following is a very disturbing excerpt from their conversation.....

CHARLES GIBSON:Do we all worship the same God, Christian and Muslim?

PRESIDENT BUSH:I think we do.

CHARLES GIBSON:Does ...

PRESIDENT BUSH:We have different routes of getting to the Almighty.

(Later in the interview.....)

CHARLES GIBSON:Do Christians and non-Christians and Muslims go to heaven in your mind?

PRESIDENT BUSH:Yes, they do. We have different routes of getting there.

But it was not just during the Charles Gibson interview that Bush declared himself to be a universalist.....

In an absolutely stunning interview with Al Arabiya television, George W. Bush said this: "I believe in an almighty God, and I believe that all the world, whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God."

During that same interview Bush also said this: "I believe there is a universal God. I believe the God that the Muslim prays to is the same God that I pray to. After all, we all came from Abraham. I believe in that universality."

Another example of Bush declaring his true beliefs came during a trip to Iraq, during which he reportedly made this statement: "I want you to convey this message to Mr. Sistani. Tell him that I pray to the same god he prays to... Tell Sistani I have nothing but praise for your religion."

Are you starting to get the picture?

George W. Bush fundamentally rejects even the very basic tenets of the Christian faith.

According to George W. Bush, Jesus Christ must have been mistaken in John 14:6.....

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

It is time for the notion that George W. Bush was an "evangelical Christian" to be thrown out the window.  He certainly courted the votes of evangelical Christians, but the reality is that he never identified with their beliefs.

But that certainly does not make George W. Bush the Antichrist.

In a previous post, we did a very extensive study of 32 characteristics of the Antichrist.  The following are some of the characteristics of the Antichrist that do not apply to George W. Bush.....

*There is no indication that George W. Bush is a man who existed previously.  In the book of Revelation, the apostle John was told that the Antichrist "once was, now is not, and yet will come".

*There is no indication that George W. Bush is from the people who destroyed the city of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D.

*There is no indication that Bush was able to perform "the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders."

*Almost the entire world will worship the Antichrist.  We have never heard of anyone worshipping George W. Bush.

*The Antichrist will arise to power after the "ten horns" come to power.  We are not even close to that point yet, and by the time they do George W. Bush will be even older than he is now.

*The Scriptures say that the Antichrist will be one who "was wounded by the sword and yet lived".  This has never happened to George W. Bush.

*The Antichrist will invade many countries and will invade the nation of Israel at one point.  The idea that George W. Bush would one day invade the nation of Israel is ludicrous.  Although when he was president he did show a propensity for invading nations.

The truth is that George W. Bush was a corrupt, bumbling politician who got to the position he did because of his famous last name and his political connections.  He is not a supernaturally powerful "superman" who will inspire the worship of the whole world like the Antichrist will.

So what is the bottom line?

The bottom line is that George W. Bush did fundamentally reject even the most basic Christian beliefs, but he is not and never will be the Antichrist.  The Antichrist will be so much more "spectacularly evil" than George W. Bush that it will not even be worth comparing the two.
