The Antichrist Is NOT Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Due to his intense hatred of the Jewish people and due to his obsession with Islamic eschatology, there have been some Christians who have wondered whether Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad could potentially be the Antichrist. The truth is that while Ahmadinejad is a very dangerous and very unstable world leader, the reality is that he most definitely is NOT the Antichrist. He is simply a very deceived, very misguided, very wicked Iranian leader who may play a huge role in the next major Middle East conflict.

In a moment we will take a look at exactly why Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is not the Antichrist, but first we will examine a few of the reasons why so many people are concerned about him. The truth is that there may be no world leader that hates the Jews more. There certainly does not seem to be any world leaders that are more vocal about their hatred. The following quotes from Ahmadinejad show just how intense his hate for the Jewish people is.....

"Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury."

"Remove Israel before it is too late and save yourself from the fury of regional nations."

"The skirmishes in the occupied land are part of a war of destiny. The outcome of hundreds of years of war will be defined in Palestinian land. As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map."

"Israel is a tyrannical regime that will one day will be destroyed."

"Israel is a rotten, dried tree that will be annihilated in one storm."

This kind of obsessive hatred is all the more frightening when you consider that Iran seems absolutely determined to proceed with their nuclear program. While publicly there are those who insist that Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons, anyone with half a brain realizes that the goal of being able to develop nuclear weapons is exactly why Iran has a nuclear program.

Considering Iran's support of Hezbollah, is there any doubt that nuclear weapons would wind up in the hands of Hezbollah terrorists if Iran is allowed to develop them? Does anyone think for one moment that a psycho like Ahmadinejad would shed a single tear if a terrorist set off a nuke in an Israeli city?

When you really stop and think about it, there is no way that the nation of Israel can allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons.  Such a development would make nuclear terrorism in the state of Israel almost inevitable.

But does that make Ahmadinejad the Antichrist?

Of course not.  In fact, he does not fit the Biblical profile of the Antichrist at all.

In our previous article, Who Is The Antichrist? – 32 Characteristics Of The Real Antichrist, we put together a list of some of the most important characteristics of the coming Antichrist.  The following are some of the characteristics of the coming Antichrist that do not apply to Ahmadinejad.....

#2) The Antichrist is someone that has previously existed.  (Revelation 17:8)  There is no indication that Ahmadinejad has any prior history.

#4) Ahmadinejad does not belong to the people that destroyed the city of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D.

#6) Ahmadinejad has shown absolutely no ability whatsoever to perform Satanic signs, wonders and miracles.

#8) The entire world will worship the Antichrist.  So far nobody has shown any willingness to worship Ahmadinejad.

#10) The Antichrist rises to power AFTER the "ten horns" rise to power. 

#15) The Antichrist will declare himself to be god.  As boastful as Ahmadinejad is, the reality is that Ahmadinejad believes that Allah is god.

#29) The rule of the Antichrist will be during "a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then."  While things are certainly getting worse right now, the reality is that these are NOT the worst times the world has ever seen.

The truth is that the Antichrist is going to be so deceptive, so "wonderful" and so supernaturally powerful that virtually the whole world will love him, follow him and worship him.  This is certainly not a description of Ahmadinejad.  A huge portion of the world absolutely cannot stand the guy.  The reality is that he is just another corrupt Islamic political leader who hates the state of Israel with a super-heated hatred. 

But he is NOT the Antichrist.
